| Salvator Vouakouanitou of Trinity
Studios LTD, France (the Tri in TriTone) and Damon Whittemore
of ValveTone,
USA (the Tone in TriTone) began collaborating on the development of
cutting-edge plugins in 2003.
Here are a few words from the founders of TriTone Digital:
Salvator:
"For the longest time I've been on a quest for an EQ plugin that could compete with my favorite outboard analog gear. But all the ones I tried simply failed to meet my needs, and so I decided to build my own.
The algorithms I developed were originally intended for private
use ...until I met Damon. Damon's help has been invaluable, and
our first joint-creation (ValveTone '62) has quickly become our
preferred EQ plugin. Soon, we realized we simply shouldn't keep
those excellent processors to ourselves, and TriTone Digital was
born!"
Damon:
"We noted a disappointing lack of DAW plugins capable of producing any kind of interesting, soulful or vibey sound. So, our efforts have been targeted towards recreating in software those "EQs with Attitude" that we all know and love. So, don't expect well-behaved Linear Phase EQ from TriTone Digital! Our processors are all about character and TONE. Just turn the knobs and you'll see what we mean!"
With their musical approach to DSP and their personal, engineer-to-engineer distribution, TriTone Digital is a breath of fresh air in lifeless world of DAW plugins!
